2016 Athanatos Festival Debt: $8,000 — new total: 7,800.

2017 Athanatos Festival Budget (with Passion Experience): $15,000 to $20,000

• $3,000 – tent rental *****
• $5,000 – honorariums
• $1,000 – porta-potties
• $1,000 – insurance
• $5,000 – advertising and promotion
• $5,000 – Passion Experience: set construction, costumes, etc. *****

***** Potentially a ‘one time’ expense.  For example, purchasing the tents outright would pay for itself very quickly. But they cost between  $10,000 and $20,000.

Pro-life Activism

$2,500 /yr – Each year, Anthony visits churches and legislators, primarily within Wisconsin, advocating for life issues.  Materials are distributed, which must first be printed.  Materials are mailed–which requires postage. Some amount of promotion takes place as well (press releases, etc.)

Building

ACM presently rents a portion of a building on main street in Greenwood, WI.  This building is for sale.  Acquiring it would allow ACM to collect the rent on the other units in the building, creating a revenue stream.  Some of the units can be set aside for housing ACM’s guests and visitors, or provide emergency housing for those in need. — $85,000.

Office needs:

• High quality video camera: $750
• Computer that can process large video files: $2,500
• Software for editing large video files: $750.

Staffing

ACM is busting at the seams when it comes to the workload.  Funding for the following positions would be clutch.

• Sales — we need a real go-getter who can do the traditional ‘sales’ type job of doing cold calls, generating leads, etc.
• Publicist — This could also be the sales person, but the nature of the ‘sales’ being done is unique enough a traditional publicist is justified.
• Office manager / Accountant — A bigger organization needs more coordinating.
• Another Anthony Horvath. — There are number of apologetic/programming/ministry projects that have had to be put on hold for lack of time and resources.  Another person with Horvath’s passions and skillset could bring these into existence and sustain them properly.

Welcome to the home page of Athanatos Christian Ministries, an organization that has been defending the Christian faith since its founding by Executive Director, Dr. Anthony Horvath, in 2008.

What we do at ACM may seem to have little connection with the great problems facing our country, but the connection is not only real, it is fundamental. Consider this chart:

The chart shows a staggering and sustained increase in the percentage of Americans claiming they no longer have a religious affiliation. Almost 30,000,000 new non-Christians in just thirty years! Why should this concern us? Look at this chart:

It may take a moment to think through what you’re looking at, but the implications are clear: those without religious affiliation are predominantly liberal. Here is worse news: the number of religiously unaffiliated is skyrocketing right before our eyes!

Athanatos Christian Ministries is focused on saving souls, but it is aware of what it means if it succeeds… or if it does not succeed. A country with more Christians in it means a diminished break down in the family, fewer abortions, and an understanding that ‘thou shalt not steal’ applies to governments as much as it does to individuals. Conversely, a country with fewer Christians in it means more people with worldviews similar to those that led the 20th century to be one of the bloodiest on record.

Our quest is to bring as many to faith in Christ as possible!  Much hangs in the balance:  their souls… but perhaps also even our country!

Athanatos Ministries has a unique approach to defending the Christian faith. You could almost call it ‘guerilla apologetics.’ The problem is simply this: you cannot argue someone out of a position they weren’t argued into in the first place. So much of the disaffection with Christianity has nothing to do with facts or evidence. People absorbed it from the culture. So, if we can transform the culture–or at least ensure that our voice is robustly represented within it–we may, over time, reverse course.

We have a gentleman associated with Athanatos Ministries who has need for a laptop.  Tim C. was paralyzed in a car accident a few years back.  It has been a struggle since then, as you can imagine.  More recently, he had to have serious surgeries related to his condition.  He is effectively bed-bound.  In the meantime, he is enrolled in various educational institutions, attending over the Internet.  However, all he has is a desktop computer, which he cannot now use for awhile.  In order to continue his education and attempt to find online employment, he needs a laptop.  And maybe even a Kindle, for reading e-text books.

Please consider donating to this cause.  Your donation would go towards the purchase of the laptop and/or Kindle.  If anything is left over, we will send a check to him in that amount.  (However, we will proportion the quality of the laptop we get with the amount that is donated, so there shouldn’t be much left over in cash.  Unless you would like to designate something as such.)

My name is Timothy [edited]. I’m a 33 year old paraplegic and the father of 6 great kids. I’ve been a paraplegic for 15 years and recently decided to finish my degree to give my kids a better life. The problem accomplishing these involve my feet and lower spine. They are breaking down from the long battle with infections, atrophy, and poor blood circulation. I’m currently in the process of disc replacement surgery and I just got two of my toes amputated last week.

All of my plans regarding school have been put on hold until I am able to get a laptop. Having one would allow me to do my work while at home and even from a hospital room. It would allow me the opportunity to choose online courses that are offered. I might even be able to find online work. If you can help me reach enough money needed to buy a good laptop, it would make my life easier in many ways and I’m very grateful for any amount you are able to help me with. God bless you.
